Respiratory Distress

So Jacob was officially given the diagnosis of asthma about 4 weeks ago and started on inhaled steroids to try and prevent his symptoms. Whenever he gets a cold that seems to trigger his symptoms. On Friday night, I came home from work and he was working SO hard to breathe. He couldn't even talk because it was too much work. He had retractions (when the chest wall sinks in between the ribs) and dusky lips. Eli took him into urgent care (I was busy vomiting, but that's another story). The doctor was so glad we brought him in. He has been on oral steroids for 5 days and is doing much better. Except for side effects... hyperactivity.. it is really funny to watch.

Now things are getting back to normal and I have my favorite Sous Chef back.

oh yeah and PS Happy 5 Years Eli (thanks for the reminder Hannah).

HOLY COW! Little Baby Jake just grew up over night. He doesn't look like a baby anymore. He is a handsome little man. Sorry about the asthma, that doesn't sound fun, but he is sure lucky to have a mama that is a Doctor for heavens sake!

I'm coming up this Saturday for Jill's wedding and I wanted to see you guys. I'll be at Sarah's Saturday morning so I'll have to find you phone number and give you a call. Hopefully we can get together and do something. And I'm glad little Jacob is doing better.
