Crystal reminded me I needed to update on Jacob's progress. Jacob has been nursing on his own since mid-October. Hallelujah! We tease that now he is a "real boy". Still, we aren't proficient at breastfeeding anywhere other than home. It is still too cumbersome in public. So I still pump to have a bottle for when we are out.

Three cheers for Jacob! And Janel! I'm glad you stuck with it...nursing can be so difficult those first few weeks (months?)Breastfeeding anywhere but home never really got easy for me, and I nursed Lincoln for over a year. He never liked having a blanket over him and my milk would let down on both sides at once so it was always messy. Was that TMI? :)
Yay Jacob! It will just keep getting easier, Janel, as he gets more proficient. Don't worry about nursing in public. I didn't ever do it comfortably with Olivia (in fact I only remember trying once, the rest of the time it was in the car and bathroom stalls). With Elsa it was much easier all around to nurse, and esp. to nurse in public, which I did frequently :)
I never nursed Sydney in public, even in a bedroom at my moms house she just wouldn't do it! So we did the pumped bottle thing too. Sadly I think this is the reason she weaned her self at six months, she learned that the bottle was easier and that is was the exact same stuff! I am happy that Jacob is a real boy now!
Good job to both of you!
Hey Janel! Remember me? Well, I was out blog hopping one day and came across your blog and it was a total shock! Congratulations on your adorable little baby! I'll be back!
