1. I have never called in sick at work- False. I have never called in sick when I have actually been sick. I called in sick from Cabo San Lucas two days in a row.
2. I love BYU- False. I had a terrible time at BYU. I became horribly depressed there. I think I had to go through that in order to gain empathy for my future patients. I was grateful, however, that I learned the spiritual aspect of nursing, "The Healers Art" as they refer to it. None of my other nursing programs taught that. I feel so fortunate to be at someone's bedside during their time of need.
3. I'm scared of Jacob's room at night- True- When Jake was a few weeks old we were having to wake him up every 2 hours so he could eat. We had just finished a 2 am feeding and Eli had just put Jake in bed in his room. I was already laying down in our room half asleep and Eli was sleeping next to me. All of the sudden the light turned on in Jacob's room. I woke up Eli and told him. He said, "that's weird because the lights were all off when I was in there , but when I put Jake in his crib the light turned on all by itself". We were both freaked out a little and went in his room together. The lamp was on, Eli said before it had been the bedroom light. So Jacob slept with for us for the next week or so and we blessed our little apartment that night. I still get a weird feeling in there.
4. I am a Democrat-False. I have always been Pro-Life and believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. However, some of the democratic ideals like focusing our attention more on renewable resources, taxing the rich instead of tax breaks for the rich (trickle down doesn't seem to have worked), and health care focusing on prevention appeal to me (I would still want a privatized sector because I would want the best care of course). I am not such a fan of politics, but Eli watches some sort of debate or political rally on TV each night so it has been on my mind.
5. I lost my virginity in the back of a van- True. Classy, I know. We got flew in from UT for our wedding and Eli borrowed a car from his parents to drive me to the Temple in. The car just happened to be a VW Westfalia. Think small camper. After getting married , the 2 hour drive home was too much and the bed in the back was calling our names.
6. I have delivered a baby- False, I have seen many babies delivered, but never delivered one myself. We spent a semester in Tucuman, Argentina at a Public Maternity Hospital providing labor support and teaching about breastfeeding/nutrition. It was one of the coolest things I have ever done.
7. If I had to chooses one leisure activity to do for the rest of my life it would be: feeding ducks- True. when I retire I want to live right by a duck pond. There is nothing more satisfying to me.
Mom you got them all right, but you don't have a blog. Therefore, the winners are Crystal and Brandi. Consider yourselves tagged!

Okay, I obviously know you better than anyone else, because I think I got EVERY SINGLE one wrong! :-) You are far more interesting than I ever imagined... I just want to point out, that you have delivered a baby, your own! C'mon you've got to at least give me one point!
Also, I'm a little disturbed that your mom knew about the van...
Oh Janel!! I can't even tell you how happy your losing your virginity story made me!! That's the best thing I've heard all day.
you are a crack up! I love to feed ducks too...specially with kids.
Oh man, what a great great wedding day!
Very interesting little facts about your cute self.
Jacob's room, yeah that would freak me out to!
That was too fun! Thanks for sharing. And for making the game of tag just that much more interesting. You crack me up. Loved the van story, by the way. It was probably nicer than our "3 star honeymoon suite" with the broken heater, broken doorknob/lock, and a couple bugs, etc. :)
The van cracks me up! I knew it had to be true! I think I've revealed all my secrets, but I'll think really hard and hopefully come up with some.
