Since we are all women.....
This morning I was so engorged I was ready to pop. So I started the engine on the breastpump and got to work. I looked down at the fruits of my labor and what did I find-- Pink milk. Only on the right. What could it be. So I disconnected and assessed the situation. Blood? But from where? A crack? I don't know but it freaked me out. The thought of Jacob becoming a little vampire baby made me dizzy and lightheaded. Gross. That was the first time I have dumped the precious fluid down the drain. Oh well, this batch was definitely contaminated.

There's something you'll never forget. When I was breast feeding I had to take some medication and it was a green pill. Hours after taking it my milk was green, it was kind of freaky until I figured out the why. Good luck on this mystery, hopefully it's easily solved!
You probably have a cracked nipple! They are the worst, you need to try to give that side time to heal. Lower the suction power on your pump and only pump until your breast is comfortable not until you are empty! Try also to expose your nipple to room air so that it can heal quicker. Also I don't remember what the cream is called but they make it just for sore and cracked nipples, put some of that on every few hours! Good luck! -
oh your funny. Can you pump easily? I couldnt ever. Dumping it down the drain would have made me cry cause it would have taken me an hour to squeeze it out....oh what I have to look foward to.
Thanks for the advice. Pink milk has thankfully resolved. Nipples still sore. now green milk that's freaky!
The stuff Caralee was talking about is called Lansinoh and it works wonders! I love it!
I'm with Crystal though, I miss nursing. Hang in there, at about 5 or 6 mos everything will change and it will be so easy and you will just love it.
